Isaiah Doe Kwao is a Statistician with over 12 years’ experience in Data Management, Monitoring & Evaluation and Research. He holds a MSc in Mathematics/Statistics and a BSc in Statistics and Computer Science. He is currently the Ag. Director Research Monitoring & Evaluation at the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) where he oversees the implementation of all activities under the Division and provides technical, operational and administrative leadership in Data Management, Monitoring & Evaluation and Research for the Division.

Prior to becoming the Ag. Director, he was the Data Quality Assurance Manager, overseeing the collection, collation and reporting of quality HIV and AIDS data for the national response. He was responsible for the development of data collection tools and putting in place effective data management systems to ensure that all collected, collated and reported HIV and AIDS data are of the quality required by National and International Partners for policy formulation and decision making. As a key member of the Data Management Team, Isaiah was instrumental in the customization and implementation of the Country Response Information System (CRIS) and the development of national data management manuals used by all implementation partners, Civil Society Organizations and NGOs across the country.

Isaiah is equally skilled in mentoring and building capacity of M&E personnel and possesses a progressive experience in designing and implementing M/E systems, as an experienced trainer in Monitoring and Data management and Data Quality Improvement. He has been involved in the development of a number of key national strategic documents at the Commission including the National Strategic and M/E Plans. He leads a team of professionals and highly skilled senior personnel from key institutions including the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP), Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO) called the National Estimates Team that works to produce and disseminate the annual National Estimates and Projections.

He has a proven ability to work with a wide range of people across national and international organizations, building and strengthening partnerships and collaborations with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
